Summit Homes Group gets cooking for charity
October is breast cancer awareness month and this year the Summit Homes Group decided to raise funds by encouraging our staff to wear pink and enjoy a Pink Ribbon Breakfast.
Early this morning the Summit Homes Group head office was filled with the delicious smells of bacon and eggs on the BBQ, as our Managers cooked breakfast for staff to help raise money for Cancer Council Western Australia. Our staff enjoyed delicious bacon and egg rolls, and we also had scrumptious cupcakes available for a gold coin donation, as well as running a raffle and a “Guess how many lollies in the jar” competition.
We managed to beat our goal of raising $1,000 so the day was a huge success!
One of the event's organisers, Samantha De Freitas, said that the day was a fun way to raise money for an important cause, as breast and gynaecological cancers unfortunately touch everyone’s life in one form or another, either directly or through the experience of family and friends.
The money that the Summit Homes Group raised will help the Cancer Council fund prevention programs, support services and world-class cancer research.
